Superyacht crash photos

A superyacht has struck the rocks off Cap Ferrat in the South of France.

The dramatic series of superyacht crash photos were taken by a SuperYacht World reader as emergency services fought to rescue the 39m Alucraft Pari.

The superyacht was blown onto the rocks in the early hours of 30 May after a storm during the night.

Initial reports suggest that the anchor may have started to drag, although it's not clear whether the crew were attempting to move her to a safer location when the accident happened.

Two guests and seven crew were on board at the time, all of whom were rescued unhurt.

At the time of going to press, salvage teams were still struggling to free the yacht from where she came to rest.

The anchorage is a popular hotspot for superyachts based in the South of France and hit the headlines in 2004 when the Mirabella V, the world's tallest single-masted sailing yacht, ran aground in similar circumstances less than a year after her launch.
