Italy's V S Y Viareggio Superyachts is to carbon offset the greenhouse gas emissions created during the upcoming sea trials of RoMa, the second 62m (203ft) vessel to leave the group's yard. The emissions will be balanced by equivalent greenhouse gas savings achieved by green energy projects through Yacht Carbon Offset in the UK.

"RoMa and her sister ships show just what can be achieved with state-of-the-art technology and innovative design. And in our own operations, we are always looking for new ways to minimise our impact on the environment. So for V S Y, working with Yacht Carbon Offset is completely in tune with our business priorities."

Designed by Norwegian naval architect Espen Oeino, RoMa has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and is being built to meet the strictest environmental standards. The vessel meets RINA Green Star Gold Plus class notation and is ABS ES certified.
