Kingship unveils new explorer vessel

Hong Kong superyacht yard Kingship recently unveiled the first of three new Hydro Tec-designed yachts in Seoul.

The HT116' Explorer (pictured) is a 35m steel-hulled flybridge with aluminium superstructure that is designed for extended cruises. Equipped with twin 448kW Cat C18 Acerts, the yacht can reach maximum speeds of 13kt or a range of 7000Nm at a cruising speed of 11.5kt. It also incorporates an active stabilisation system at anchor, based on two non-retractable fins.

The next two models in Kingship's Hydro-Tec series are a 45m (148ft) model and an 27m (87ft) model — both of which will share the same look as the HT116'. All three projects will be presented at the Monaco boat show in September.

In addition to the Kingship series, Hydro Tec is also working on a 21m (70ft) yacht for Malta-based company Tecnav, a 26m (86ft) vessel for the Marche yard and a 45m (148ft) yacht for a private owner. All yachts are said to be "true explorer vessels".
