Emerald Isle up for auction

Emerald Isle up for auction

Emerald Isle — which has had only one owner since delivery from Christensen Shipyards in 1992 — is to be auctioned off in Fort Lauderdale on August 24th.

The 126ft (38m) craft is being sold on an “as is, where is, with all faults” basis through JP King Auction Company and Yacht Auction Group.

Although not used much in recent years, Emerald Isle has undertaken 11 ocean crossings, having visited many destinations such as Sardinia, Norway, the Caribbean, and Alaska.

She was previously offered for sale through traditional brokerage channels in 2008 and 2009 (going through a number of price reductions) but ultimately did not sell — despite the fact that she underwent a $2m refit in 2009 which saw her galley gutted, and new cabinetry, appliances and granite countertops installed.

Emerald Isle features an on-deck master suite and three guest staterooms, one of which is full beam. There is also accommodation for six crew below decks.

Minimum bid is $2.85 million and all interested bidders must make a $50,000 deposit and register with the auctioneer.
