The 156-metre Lürssen Dilbar – which is believed to be the biggest superyacht by volume ever launched – left the yard for handover at the weekend.
The monster Dilbar – which was recently photographed on sea trails – has had her nameplate covered until now, and had been known as Project Omar during her build. Lürssen launched the original 110-metre Tim Heywood-designed Dilbar in 2008.
Details of the yacht remain sparse but her exterior styling is believed to be by Espen Øino and the interiors by Winch Design. The sea trial images revealed two helipads, while the most recent shots show the full extent of the yacht’s accommodation, with two levels of steps aft rising past a lower deck to an imposing main deck, with three decks above this. Glass is wrapped around much of the accommodation, which will certainly mean lots of natural light on board.
