Heesen 6500 FDHF

Heesen is the latest superyacht builder to latch onto the idea of using a fast displacement hull form (FDHF) to maximise cruising performance. Developed by Dutch naval architects Van Ooosanen & Associates and tank tested at the Wolfson Unit in Southampton, the long slender hull shape claims to improve overall fuel efficiency by around 30% when compared to traditional semi-planing or full-displacement designs.
