Forget what the detractors say: the No 1 area in which to charter a superyacht is the Mediterranean. Over 30% of all charters booked on superyachts begin and terminate there, with the next most popular area being the Caribbean, which claims just 15%. No other area in the world reaches double figures.
It is easy to see why the Mediterranean scores so highly: it has history, culture and weather on its side, and is certainly an easy destination to get to, be it aboard a scheduled airliner or a private jet. But perhaps its greatest charm for superyacht owners and charterers is the fact that the Mediterranean undoubtedly has class.
