Montenegro set for June opening

The first 100 berths at the exclusive new Porto Montenegro marina will open for business in June. Set on a former naval base in the beautiful Bay of Kotor, it promises to have some of the best

superyacht facilities in the Adriatic.

When completed the deep natural harbour will have over 150 berths for superyachts from 25-180 metres. Duty-free fuel, low labour rates, 7% VAT and two international airports within an hour’s drive of the marina make it an ideal base for charter operations.

Guests and crew will also appreciate the raft of new hotels, restaurants and shops being developed around the marina, not to mention the nearby golf course and ski resort.

Berths for 25-metre yachts will cost around €20,000 a year for a three-year lease with an option to extend it to a 15-year lease. Many of the best longer-term berths are being packaged together with luxury freehold properties. Full-time residents can take advantage of Montenegro’s 9% income tax rate.
