The 2016 Bacarrat SuperYacht World Award was presented last night to the owner of the stunning new 55-metre Amels 180 Elixir at the Monaco Yacht Show
The winner of this year’s exclusive Baccarat SuperYacht World Trophy is the 55-metre Amels Elixir. The award was presented to her owner at the Monaco Yacht Show last night at an event hosted by Damen and Amels aboard the yacht. Each year the Baccarat SuperYachtWorld award is presented to the person, the yacht or the yard that has most inspired SuperYacht World’s readers.
“Elixir is a wonderful example of Amels’ hugely successful Limited Editions range,” said Paul Ashton, editor of SuperYacht World. “The yacht is the perfect illustration of how an owner’s vision, along with the creative powers of exterior designer Tim Heywood and interior designer Laura Sessa, can produce a unique and characterful yacht.”
“Baccarat is proud to present the trophy to the new Amels yacht Elixir, an exquisite example of craftsmanship, elegance and uniqueness,” said Sophie Cotelle, Baccarat’s Lighting and Furniture Business Unit Vice President.
“Elixir was a challenging project with a lot of customisation in a very short timescale of only eight months,” said Rose Damen, Sales Manager at Amels. “The owner’s idea of applying jet-black gloss on the superstructure is quite unusual and difficult to perfect, but the result is faultless and creates really enchanting contrasts. That characteristic style also flows into the contemporary interior spaces. When we delivered her on budget and ahead of schedule, the owner’s team remarked on the exceptional high-quality craftsmanship and comfort levels, which makes us very proud of Elixir.”
