Amels sells two Limited Editions yachts

Dutch superyacht builder Amels has sold two Tim Heywood-designed Amels 177s from its Limited Editions range.

The sales came off the back of a “very successful” Monaco Yacht Show in September, says Amels. The Vlissingen-based yard is now operating at full capacity.

Both new Amels 177s will have interior styling by Laura Sessa from Italy, although each will have its own distinct, unique style.

The sale marks the end of a “busy and productive year” for Amels; the company recently delivered an Amels 171 and Amels 177 both on time and on budget. Twelve more projects are now underway, with a Tim Heywood and Andrew Winch-designed Limited Editions Amels 212 confirmed as the yard’s next delivery.

Amels has also laid the keel for Hull No 1 of the Amels 199 and its largest Limited Editions yacht to date, an Amels 242, is scheduled to launch very soon.

In addition, Amels has confirmed the delivery of two 50m (164ft) Damen-built Sea Axe Fast Yacht Support vessels, and the sale of a 67m (220ft) Sea Axe earlier this year. A smaller 37m (121ft) version has also been introduced.

Amels is part of the Damen Shipyards Group in the Netherlands, which consists of more than 34 shipyards and marine-related companies throughout the world. Damen delivered 150 vessels in 2009 and has an annual turnover of around €1.4bn.
