Antibes Yacht Show a success

Antibes Yacht Show’s organisers have hailed the fifth annual SuperYacht World-sponsored event as a success and are predicting ‘a great season in the yachting industry’.

Around 13,000 visitors joined 180 exhibitors and 150 yachts at Port Vauban in the South of France, to kick off the start of the yachting season.

Initial reports suggest that larger yachts up to 43 metres are still popular at Antibes with several brokers receiving offers at the show.

The improved event featured two new large marquees and a brand new ‘refit’ area for the equipment and interior decoration exhibitors. The new structures provided visitors with a cool shaded area to escape from the hot spring sun, which shone constantly for the four days.

Other activities included a chef competition, live music and a kayak race, which took place in the lively ‘Crew Lounge’, plus free Wi-Fi was available each day.

This year, the inauguration was presided over as usual by the Mayor of Antibes, honoured Antibes Yacht Show’s honorary president, M. Camille Rayon, by renaming the extension to the Antibes Yacht Club from ‘Le Quai des Milliardaires’ to ‘Quai Camille Rayon’.
