Atollvic Shipyard in Vigo, Spain, has teamed up with Cognit Design, the design and engineering branch of the Totalmar Group, for the design of a new 30m (98ft) sloop.
Anegada Cay will have many advanced technical features, including canting keels and retractable propellers, while at the same time retaining a traditional appearance.
A ballast tank system will allow a reduction in draft to enable the vessel to moor up in sheltered anchorages, allowing the owner to access cruising places only normally available to much smaller boats.
“It has been designed with the discerning sailor in mind and, while inspired by tradition, it features modern and innovative solutions. The result is a performance sail yacht capable of high speeds under sail,” says Alberto Fernandez, designer at Totalmar. “Agility and performance were a structural part of the concept from the start.”
Founded in 2006, Atollvic Shipyard specialises in custom sail and motor yachts in steel or aluminium. The company builds, refits and repairs of yachts up to 70m (230ft). When commissioned, Anegada Cay will be built by Atollvic at its shipyard in Vigo.
