Bernie Madoff's motoryacht up for sale

A bespoke 27m Leopard motoryacht belonging to Ponzi scheme operator Bernard Madoff is on the market, following a lengthy legal dispute.

Madoff’s bespoke motoryacht, named Bull, was built by Italian firm Cantiere Navale Arno to Madoff’s personal specification.

The disgraced financier purchased the vessel in 2007 for €5m.

The boat has been maintained by a full-time crew and spent her time on the Cote D’Azur, until being moved by the liquidators to Gibraltar.

Apparently Madoff was particular about keeping her clean by ordering carpet over carpet and not allowing food on board at any stage, therefore most of the Galley equipment remains unused to date.

She has 350 hours use on her engines, and in August 2010 underwent a full out of water maintenance.

Madoff is currently serving 150 years in prison for controlling what has been described as the biggest Ponzi scheme in history, defrauding investors of nearly $65 billion.
