With an order book of over 430 metres in-build and a new 58m on the dock for the 2010 Monaco Yacht Show, Mehmet Karabeyoglu of the Turkish based Proteksan Turquoise Shipyard has joined with Stuart Larsen of Fraser Yachts and Tim Wiltshire of Burgess to commission Andrew Winch Designs to develop a new flexible 74m superyacht design.
Tried and tested hull platform
The new 74m utilises a tested hull platform giving large internal volume which is being offered in two configurations; one a traditional style and the other a more modern approach with sweeping curves.
Flexibility in styling and accommodation
With the hull well into build and the flexible design package in place, a fast track two year delivery is a possibility. The design package offers further flexibility about where the client wishes to place the owner’s accommodation.
Experience and market savvy
Two 70m orders provide the learning curve for the new 74m
Proteksan Turquoise’s Mehmet Karabeyoglu said, “Although we often use our own in-house design office, we also call upon other well known designers to provide customers with different design approaches, and we also welcome the customers own choice of designer.”
The exterior of this 74m project has a long sheer line with a fully glazed window recess in the hull across the guest cabins. In contrast, there is an option for a shorter sheer line with longer vertical and individual windows.
The design has a huge amount of creative and specific features on board – from the spa beach balcony and arrival dock, to the stern swim-stair and open beach club terrace.
The Proteksan Turquoise 74m has a collection of variations within the interior plan to provide different client opportunities with the numbers of guest cabins, size of libraries, cinemas, crew numbers/crew cabins etc. A spectacular master bedroom suite is on the upper deck with its own forward balcony and terrace, although it can also be placed in other positions.
A helicopter landing area is isolated to the bow of the superyacht, leaving the stern completely clear for leisure, relaxing and entertaining. The wheelhouse deck has a large multifunction room at the rear, opening onto a unique inside/outside gym and exercise terrace, alternatively all of this could be a wonderful owner’s library and sunset bar.
