Shamrock V, the J class yacht designed and built in 1930 for Sir Thomas Lipton’s fifth and final attempt at the America’s Cup is up for sale. The yacht is being sold through Edmiston and has an asking price of $15m.
The 36.6m (120ft) yacht was designed by Charles E Nicholson and built by Camper & Nicholson. She is unique in that she is the only wooden J class yacht ever built.
The yacht has been refitted and refurbished a number of times in her life and currently provides accommodation for eight guests in two double and two twin cabins.
The broker leading the sale is Edmiston’s classic yacht specialist, Mike Horsley, who operates from the company’s Antibes office.
