Liveras Yachts managing consultant Kyri Kyriacou moves on

Following the death of Liveras Yachts founder, Andreas Liveras, which led to the fundamental reorganization of the company, the cancellation of two 100 metre builds and the recent sale of the charter fleet, Mr Kyri Kyriacou has made the decision to leave his position with Liveras Yachts after 32 years with the Liveras Group of companies.

Kyri said, “I would wish to thank everyone for their support, especially over the last 18 months.”

“The reorganization gives me the opportunity to effect a change in my career and will enable me to take a break from what has been a punishing schedule for a number of years. I intend to take some time indulging my passion for flying helicopters before immersing myself in new and exciting ventures including a new multi-million pound property project, which is about to launch. It will also enable me to expand my role as a non-executive director to companies.”

“I spent more than 30 years working closely with Andreas, they were always exciting and always on the edge. From the development of Fleur de Lys Patisseries into a world-class manufacturer of frozen gateau; through the creation of Fleur de Lys Automobiles (where we built replicas of 1920’s delivery vans); the development of Liveras Yachts into a world beating super-yacht charter business, property development in Spain and thrown in along the way, just to keep me on my toes was land reclamation and resort developments in the Maldives. I can honestly say there was never a dull moment.”

“The past few years have been spent creating a fleet of super yachts that was the envy of the worldwide charter business. And, for me, it is with some sadness that the fleet has been dispersed. However the decision has been made that a 60 metre yacht will be sourced for September 2010 and my brother-in-law Dion will continue to have an interest in the charter business, which will live on in memory of his father. I wish Dion and the team every success for the future.”

“Finally, can I add that, it has been a privilege working in this industry and a pleasure working with the people within it, I hope we are able to keep in touch in the future, but for now ~ au revoir.”
