The London Yacht, Jet & Prestige Car Show, held in the historic Old Billingsgate site beside the Thames and in the shadow of the City of London, starts tomorrow and runs until Friday.

The event showcases superyacht builders and brokers, interior designers and furniture makers, private jet manufacturers, the very best car makers, and a host of luxury goods and service companies. Once again, SuperYacht World is proud to be attending the show as a media sponsor (stop by if you are visiting – we’ll be on R01).

Prestige London Show

Lots of yachts to see at the on-water show

This year, the inside and outside elements of the show will have a more distinct character, with Old Billingsgate hosting Prestige London, and the London On-Water show taking place at St Katharine Docks, with that event running until Saturday. “It’ll be truly spectacular,” says event director Peter Bryant. “We will be hosting and displaying more than 100 yacht, private jet, and luxury and prestige car companies, including for the first time, Edmiston, Sunseeker London, Ferrari, Tesla, Mansory, Lamborghini and Netjets, to name just a few. We’ve plenty of champagne being supplied by Moët Hennessy, and St Katharine Docks will be crammed full with fantastic yachts!”

Brokers, yards and designers will be inside Old Billingsgate

If you needed any endorsement from last year’s debut show, you need only look at the numbers of companies who have booked space again for 2016. One superyacht supplier keen to showcase in the UK capital is Silverlining, creators of some of the finest superyacht furniture. “The show is an exciting venue for everyone connected with the superyacht world. London is the home for many leading yacht designers and as the city is an international hub for owners, their family offices, lawyers and other advisers, the London Yacht, Jet and Prestige Car Show is ideally placed to build relationships that matter,” says Mark Boddington, chairman of the Silverlining Furniture Group. “Last year, the show was very well attended and Silverlining met new and existing clients who have placed projects with us. We hope this year builds on the success of the inaugural show.”

There are plenty of lifestyle companies to visit

It’s not just the craftsmen out there who have one eye on reaching out to clients they haven’t met before. “We’re looking to expose the Christophe Harbour brand and ownership opportunities in a target-rich environment,” says Katherine Verano, director of marketing of the Caribbean resort at Christophe Harbour. “We launched a seamless arrival/departure partnership with our private jet terminal last year that’s proven to be very attractive part of any yacht/jet ownership experience, so we want to share this message with what we hope will be a very targeted audience at the show. Plus, it is always a good opportunity to network with other industry folks, discuss strategic partnership opportunities, and catch up on trends.”

Westport is among the yards exhibiting

The superyacht yards are coming in good numbers, with Lürssen, Amels, Abeking & Rasmussen, Sunrise Yachts, Westport, Blohm+Voss, Nobiskrug, Pendennis, Fincantieri, JFA Yachts and Oyster all showcasing what they can do. With superyacht brokerage houses representing some of the finest yachts on the water, there will be plenty for the potential yacht buyer to discuss and some great ideas for a charter holiday. Don’t miss visiting Burgess, Edmiston and Fraser Yachts. Sunseeker London, Berthon Boats and Azimut London will also be there, and Amico & Co will be able to discuss any of your refit requirements. If you are on the hunt for a tender, Cockwells, Yachtwerft Meyer and Compass will be there. Dixon Yacht Design, Berrett Racoupeau Yacht Design and Van Oossanen Naval Architects are among the design houses represented at the show.

A key aspect of the event is the number of suppliers who provide services to superyachts in build and on refit. Among the interior specialists – for domestic spaces as well as for yachts – there’ll be that outstanding furniture from Silverlining (look out of the company’s cutting-edge experiments with materials and marquetry). Kevin Glancy (cutlery and porcelain) and Jonathan Fawcett (bed linen, table linen and towels) will be showcasing their products, while you can see some examples of the work of bespoke carpet-makers Oliver Treutlein. Oldenburger is another furniture maker, while Serdaneli make bespoke bathroom fittings and Metal Composite produce custom metal finishes for yachts, home and private jets.

The Glider tender will be making its debut

There’ll be a number of firms offering services to private jet owners, such as Xclusive Jet Charter & Management, Executive Jet Management and Private Jet Charter, while Harrods Estates will be showcasing some of its premier properties. Petrol-heads won’t be disappointed – Noble Automotive will be bringing its hand-built M600 supercar. McClaren will also have a presence, and Supercarbroker.com will be showcasing some of its desirable wares.

Among the resorts on show will be Christophe Harbour and Porto Montenegro, each offering world-class facilities to discerning yacht and property owners. The on-water part of the show will host the much-anticipated debut of Glider’s Super Sport fast motor cat concept. You’ll also be able to see a host of brokerage yachts, with Princess and Sunseeker London represented.
With catwalk fashion experiences, seminars and Moët Hennessy keeping the exclusive bars stocked, there will be distractions aplenty. We look forward to seeing you there.
