German yachtbuilder Lürssen has launched a new interactive website that allows you to take a virtual tour of the world of superyachts.



On www.lurssen.com you can explore the history of Lürssen, browse a gallery of their builds and designs.



You can also find out about the designers and share knowledge and ideas with other yacht captains on their new forum.



The new website sees Lürssen adopt a new slogan: “Yachts built on family bonds since 1875”.



Owner Peter Lurssen said: “Our clients value the integrity, confidentiality and trustworthiness of a family company with a long tradition.”



It’s been a big year for Lürssen, who have celebrated two major milestones in 2011.



It has been 125 years since Lürssen created the world’s first motorboat, breaking the world water speed record 25 years later with their 26ft wooden motor cruiser the Lürssen-Daimler, which won the title ‘Champion of the Sea’ in Monaco in 1911.
