Make way for the world's first carbon neutral superyacht

She’s called the Emax Excalibur and looks positively futuristic. The 72er has a maximum speed of 30 knots and cruising speed of 22.

The superyacht, built by the Ned Ship Group, has a displacement of 38tonnes.

She’s a Solar Hybrid Fly-bridge Cruiser that can harness and return energy to the grid.

Her special ‘Voltaic Exoskeleton’ can harvest and return enough juice to offset up to 3,000 nautical miles of carbon neutral cruising at 18 knots.

Richard Sauter, head of design, said, “the Emax Excalibur is … a revolutionary first step in the Maritime Industry towards the production of Post Carbon Yachts.”
