Four days of yacht viewings, conferences and displays at the third Mediterranean Yacht Show in the Greek port of Nafplion ended last night, with organisers hailing a hugely successful event.
The Mediterranean Yacht Show is Greece’s largest yachting event and showcases some of the best yachts available for charter in the Eastern Mediterranean. It also serves to give the global community of charter brokers some insights into the potential for chartering in Greek waters. This year’s line-up included over 40 yachts over 30 metres, as well as over 300 yacht brokers.
The largest yacht on show was the 71.9-metre O’Pari 3, displayed by Atalanta Golden Yachts. Launched at Golden Yachts in 2015, the yacht – designed by Giorgio and Stefano Vafiadis – charters from €550,000pw. Other yachts in Atalanta Golden Yachts’ strong line-up included the 39.5-metre O’Pati, and the 41.0-metre O’Rion. Built at Siar Moschini in 2004, and benefiting from a recent refit, O’Rion (below) charters for €115,000 in high season.
Burgess was showing the 32.8-metre Marnaya. Built at Maiora in 2010, the yacht sleeps 12 guests and will be based in the Eastern Mediterranean for this summer and winter seasons. She charters for €68,000pw. Big Blue Yachting showed the 38.0-metre Benetti Lady Ellen, while Parsifal Yachting’s line-up included the 36.7-metre Baglietto Obsesion and the 50.2-metre Mondomarine Zaliv III.
Cacos V (above) was shown by IYC Greece. This 40-metre Admiral Tecnomar, built in 2013, has a top speed of 21 knots, sleeps 11 guests, and is offered for charter at €140,000pw. Also part of IYC’s offering was the 2012 45-metre Tecnomar Ouranos, which sleeps 12 guests served by nine crew. She charters for €140,000pw.
A popular charter yacht in the Easter Mediterranean is Ionian Princess (above), a 45.7-metre Christensen from 2005 and recently refitted. She was on show with Fraser Yachts and charters for €145,000pw. Yachting Partners International was showing RL Noor (below). This 38-metre Bilgin was launched in 2010 and is available for €80,000pw.
Winners of the Chef’s Competition that ran during the show included George Georgief of Aurora (shown by Aris Drivas Yachting), Antonis Zafiriou of Project Steel (shown by Istion Yachting), and Sotiris Louis of Ancallia (shown by Torrance Yachts). The show ended with a crew party at the Rosso Music Cafe.
