This is the time of year when owners not cruising in the Caribbean often take their superyachts to a yard for some winter TLC. One of the busiest is refit specialist Monaco Marine, which is seeing plenty of arrivals at its La Ciotat facitility.
In for a refit of its sundeck, which includes the removal of a hot-tub and the construction of a covered gym, is the 58-metre CMN Netaya 8. The 48-metre Bloemsma & Van Bremen Rahil (ex-Flying Eagle) arrives for a hull paint job, deck seal replacement and the installion of safety glass.
Shown in the photo (above left, under the cover) is the 53-metre Benetti Latitude, which is undergoing a superstructure paint job and her five-year survey. The 43-metre Baglietto Sofia 3 is having a full refit of the lazarette, as well as work on the propulsion, engine and steering gear. ISA’s 47-metre 360, which was damaged by fire last year, is having a full bridge refit.
The 50-metre Benetti Aquila is having an interior refit, while the 49-metre Trinity Blind Date is having tank treatment and work on the air-conditioning system. A number of other yachts are booked in at the yard for work over the next few months.
You can read more about refits in the next issue of SuperYacht World, out on January 2.
