The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh have chartered Leander G for a Diamond Jubilee tour of Britain this summer.

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are set to spend five months travelling across the UK, marking 60 years since her accession to the throne. As well as chartering Leander G, the Queen will also travel by car, air and the royal train.

Last week the Queen and Prince Philip stayed onboard the superyacht when she was moored at the National Waterways museum at Ellesmere Port.

Leander G is currently docked at Gunwharf Quays, where she is booked in for a couple of weeks.

The 74.8m superyacht, owned by NCP car park’s Sir Donald Gosling, is available to charter with Insull and has been chartered by the royals before. Since the Royal Yacht Britannia was decommissioned, Leander G has played host to members of the royal family including Prince Charles and Camilla.

Leander G is featured in the May/June issue. Buy a copy of issue 25 to read the ’60 new season charter yachts’ feature.
