Royal Huisman debut specialist refit capability at METS

First appearance follows custom yacht builder’s success at ISS Design & Leadership Awards

Royal Huisman‘s new specialist refit service huisfit, will debut at METS this week.

Huisfit has taken on two major new refit projects: The 93m schooer Eos, and 40m motor yacht Be Mine.

Launched by Lürssen in 2006, Eos‘ busy schedule meant she needed an extensive refit. Her work-list includes a new paint job for her hull, superstructure and spars, an overhaul of deck equipment and Ronal masts, updates to her teak deck, service work to her mechanics, board systems and air conditioning, as well as general work and cosmetic repairs.

Eos‘ refit will be done at nearby seaport Harlingen, with her spars returning to Vollenhove for refurbishment and re-painting.

Be Mine, pictured above, was also built by Lürssen and launched back in 1991. Her underwater body, hull and superstructure needed painting, she needed construction work on her sun deck, main deck and hull portholes, her teak decks needed replacing, her board systems needed servicing as well as updating her electronics and electrics and modifying her interior.

Be Mine will be delivered Spring 2012, after the work is completed in Vollenhove.
