Sanlorenzo has announced the sale of its first 64Steel, the largest yacht it has ever built.
The 64-metre is already taking shape at Sanlorenzo’s new facility in La Spezia. Details of the Sanlorenzo 64Steel remain sparse, but the yard says it will host six or seven guest cabins, and nine crew cabins. There are currently two engine options – twin 1,771kW CAT 3516C and twin 2,000kW MTU 16V 4000 M63, with the most powerful option delivering a projected top speed of 17 knots. The yard says the yacht is “characterised by elegant exterior lines and innovative interiors”.
Sanlorenzo’s new facility offers the yard the space to build up 80 metres and has direct access to the sea. Currently, two 460Exp units and two 52-metre hulls of the 52Steel range are under construction at the site, and the yard adds that the new site will allow it to carry out refitting operations for large vessels.
At the Monaco Yacht Show in September, Sanlorenzo will be showing the 42-metre 460EXP X, the second yacht in the explorer range after Moka, which launched last year. Also on show at Monaco is the 46Steel Scorpion. The seventh yacht in the 46Steel range has just been delivered to an owner from Hong Kong.
