Merle Wood & Associates tell us that Rising Sun, the 138-metre Bannenberg-designed Lürssen superyacht, is now under the sole ownership of record producer and philanthropist David Geffen.

Previously the yacht had been co-owned by Geffen and Larry Ellison, co-founder of software giant Oracle.

The superyacht is now back at the Lurssen yard for a refit, and is expected to undergo a number of interior and exterior changes, including alterations to the main deck awning.

When the yacht reappears next year it will remain in private hands. Ellison has a new 88-metre yacht under construction.
