Dutch technology firm Van Berge Henegouwen Installaties have developed an iPad control system for guests aboard superyachts. The company has successfully equipped 12 areas on an 85-metre superyacht with the iPads.
With its intuitive and personalised look and feel and high-speed operation, the iPad perfectly suits on-board guests, for whom ease of use and integration are key issues.
VBH has taken iPad integration beyond standard apps into a control device for the on-board audio-visual systems, room environment settings and other systems. The iPad solution also delivers several other yacht-related entertainment and business functionalities.
After close collaboration with engineers from Crestron, the iPad can now communicate with the on-board Crestron system. This provides the iPad with the same functionalities as a Crestron panel, with all additional benefits of an iPad.
At the recent Monaco Yacht Show the company was also showing a Panasonic 152-inch high-resolution display, a 50-inch 3D plasma screen, and a touch-screen interactive video wall where you could play with and feed the digital fish!
