Oceanco’s new 86m yacht, project name Y706, has arrived at its shipyard in Alblasserdam, The Netherlands for fitting out prior to an expected launch in 2010. Transported by barge from hull builders Zwijnenburg BV, the hull was first joined with the two-part tri-deck aluminium superstructure before undergoing an inclination test. The complete structure was then loaded in her finishing bay alongside the 85.5m Y705, which is due for delivery later this year
Designed by Nuvolari & Lenard the yacht features a main salon that includes the very latest in entertainment electronics complete with a 5m x 2m Panavision movie format screen. One of her most unusual features has to be an 80-inch television set which folds out from the deckhead on the aft main deck and swivels to become an open air cinema. This vast open area on the aft deck also hosts a 6.5m x 3.5m swimming pool which, at the touch of a button transforms into a helipad or dance floor, a feature first seen on the same yard’s Alfa Nero.
Y706 will include a spacious master stateroom with a study and a private exterior deck area with a pool, a VIP suite with his and her bathrooms, two double VIP suites, one twin VIP cabin and two double guest cabins. The contemporary interior will feature walnut, teak, mahogany and rosewood interspersed with natural materials, fabrics and colours.
