Tankoa's 69-metre Francesco Paszkowski styled Suerte, which launched in June, is undergoing sea trials off Portofino, before delivery at the end of August – and the first results have been impressive
“We are really thrilled with the results of the first sea trials,” says Michel Karsenti of Yacht-Ology, the company who brought the buyer to the yard. “According to the contractual specification, the top speed was to be 16.5 knots at half load. We reached a top speed in excess of 18 knots with a load close to 70 per cent. The 5,500-nautical-mile range was to be obtained at 12 knots. We will have the 5,500-mile range at 14 knots, which makes a true difference when going across the Atlantic. Vibrations are inexistent and sound level is already in line with our specs without loose furniture. The project simply exceeded all our wildest expectations. A happy owner will be our reward!”
The steel-and-aluminium Suerte – the debut launch from the Tankoa yard – was built under the project name S693, and is scheduled to appear at the Monaco Yacht Show in September. The yard says that the interior, by Margherita Casprini from Francesco Paszkowski’s design studio, is 95% done.
In September, the deck and superstructure of Tankoa’s first 50-metre will enter the shed for mechanical work, while work is ongoing on the 70-metre S701. The yard will introduce two new Francesco Paszkowski-designed 53-metre concepts at the Monaco show.
