The Italian Sea Group has unveiled the Admiral Sail Wave 38M, the first in a Philippe Briand-designed range of superyachts up to 60 metres. The all-aluminium sailing yacht features a beamy hull amidships and a wider section aft, creating excellent volumes inside but also producing a spirited sailing performance. “This is the trend of the last successful generation of racing-sailing yachts, and those yachts have proven to be very efficient,” says Philippe Briand.

“This yacht is a beautiful holiday platform for family and friends,” he adds. The beamier hull means plenty of deck space and the extra width aft has created a very spacious owner’s suite. The standard layout envisages two further guest suites and a multifunction space that can be an office, a salon or an extra guest cabin. There is also space for a captain and four crew.

On deck, the cockpit is protected by a hardtop with sliding bimini and by retractable side windows. The large aft terrace offers a protected sunbathing platform, with access to the sea and from the owner’s stateroom. The yacht will be rigged with a carbon mast and furling boom, with provision for an auto-tacking jib, foresail, staysail and downwind sail. “The Admiral Sail Wave 38 will be a fast and fun sailing yacht, and a meeting place for those who love wind and water,” Philippe Briand adds.

The Italian Sea Group launched the Admiral Sail Silent 24M at the Monaco Yacht Show last month.
