Benetti’s all-aluminium 47-metre superyacht Panthera – the second yacht in the yard’s 500 series – has been launched. The owner will be keeping the yacht in the Mediterranean next summer, and there are no plans as yet to offer her for charter.
The exterior styling by Benetti creates kinks and curves in the superstructure, and the large oval windows in tinted glass contrast strikingly with the silver finish. Silvers and greys are keynote colours throughout – even the detailing on the teak decking outside is silver rather than the traditional black. The inside, too – the work of Benetti and the owner’s team – is light and contemporary, with fashion photos used throughout as decoration. The full-beam owner’s suite is on the main deck, opening onto a private deck area, with a VIP on the bridge deck and a further VIP and two doubles on the lower deck.
Panthera’s slender beam (8.8 metres) and semi-displacement hull mean a top speed of 24 knots, with a 12-knot cruising range of 3,400 miles. The first 500, Imagination, was launched in 2010. A third hull is scheduled for delivery in the spring. For more images of Panthera, click here
