The 88-metre Illusion – the biggest-volume superyacht ever constructed in China – is well under way at the Raffles yard in Yantai, Shandong province, and is being offered for sale through Fraser Yachts. She has recently been moved across the yard by barge. Building is progressing well and she is scheduled for a mid-2015 launch.

The interior by Sinot Yacht Design looks from the renderings to be an intriguing mix of Asian references and contemporary design – not many superyachts can boast terracotta-warrior-style figures in the main deck entrance area. Naval architecture is by Azure Naval, while the exterior styling came from the company formerly known as RSD. Rolls-Royce diesel-electric engines will give the yacht a top speed of 17 knots.

Fraser Yachts will be showing a model of Illusion at the forthcoming Hainan Rendez‐Vous, taking place from the March 30 to April 2 in Sanya.
