The 76.6-metre explorer superyacht Yersin has been launched at the Piriou yard in Concarneau. Yersin has been created as a go-anywhere research vessel and yacht, with an Ice 1C class hull that can cruise in -20˚C conditions, with on-board waste treatment systems that allow 40 people to stay on board for 50 days. The steel and aluminium yacht accommodates 18 guests and has a range of 12,000 nautical miles. As well as guests, the yacht is designed to host scientists and technicians. On-board facilities include two laboratories, a media room, an infirmary and a scuba-diving room.

The yacht will officially be christened in Monaco in June. At the Monaco Yacht Show last September, Yersin was showcased under ‘La Belle Classe Superyachts’, a label created by the Yacht Club de Monaco to support owners cruising worldwide.
