Horizon’s portfolio of superyachts continues to grow with the launch of the stunning steel-hulled 45.1-metre Polaris, the yard’s flagship and the largest ice-classed private yacht built in Asia. “She is a no-compromise, ocean-going expedition yacht that embodies Horizon’s growth and success over the past 25 years. We are extremely proud of her,” says Horizon CEO John Lu.
With exterior styling by by J. C. Espinosa and Horizon’s design team and an interior by Birgit Schnaase, Polaris offers five staterooms for guests. The full-beam main-deck master offers a walk-in wardrobe and spacious bathrooms, as well as that most unusual of features, an owner’s pantry. Below decks there are four mirrored guest staterooms – VIPs aft and twins amidships.
Outdoor guest spaces include a sundeck hot-tub, while the sky lounge offers a place to unwind with a gym and a spa room, which includes a sauna and shower. Twin 1,312kW MTUs deliver a top speed of 16 knots and a range of over 4,200 nautical miles at 9.5 knots.
She is currently preparing for a cruise around Taiwan in early June, and will be unveiled at the Horizon Yachts Open House on June 28, which SuperYacht World will be flying out to attend.
