Kusch Yachts has launched the 100.8-metre superyacht Hull V853 at Wewelsfleth on the Elbe in Germany. “The contract for this construction was signed at the end of 2011 with Kusch Yachts with a keel laying in February 2012,” says Richard Hein, CEO of The A group/VegaYachts, who are responsible for the naval arcitecture and exterior design. “Since then, we have worked closely with the shipyard, the interior designer Studio Massari, and the owner’s team to ensure the vessel is built to the highest North-European/German quality in order to meet the owner’s expectations. Hull V853 is the first boat from VegaYachts with design and naval architecture by The A group. This launch is an important step in the construction process, and we are now all concentrating our efforts in the finalisation of the interior outfitting.”
The suprisingly sleek yacht has a beam of 16 metres, while propulsion comes from twin Rolls-Royce Azipull AZP100 azimuth pulling props driven by tw0 2,430kW Rolls-Royce Bergen engines, which deliver a punchy top speed of 17 knots and a 14-knot cruise. The yacht will accommodate 22 guests in 11 cabins, 30 crew and up to six other staff.
