Hitting the water in Viarreggio is the latest Mangusta 165, the eighth of this highly successful range of superyachts to be launched. The yacht will shortly be delivered to her owner during an official ceremony and she will be presented at the Monaco Yacht Show in September. A ninth model is currently in build.



The 50-metre yacht reaches a speed of 40 knots, making her the fastest composite maxi open ever built, says builder Overmarine. This example boasts a number of new features that have been incorporated to meet the owner’s requests. These includes the new side window – a large single pane of glass in the main salon. Alterations have also been made to the flybridge, the superstructure of which has been redesigned in order to house a large U-shaped divan – giving the yacht more modern, aggressive lines, says the yard. More than ten different kinds of woods and lacquering and seven different kinds of marble have been used on board.
