Delivered last October, Lürssen’s 85-metre superyacht Solandge is already doing sterling service for her owner, with a season’s cruising in the Caribbean. The Espen Øino-designed yacht is a step up the size range from this experienced owner’s previous 63-metre Lürssen. The yacht’s interior is by Aileen Rodriguez and the build was project managed by Master Yachts, through whom she will charter.

The main-deck salon, the focal point of which is the formal dining table, relects the owner’s passions for fine art and classical music, with wood veneers, mother-of-pearl inlays and fine furniture adding a traditional accent (below). A deck up are the owner’s spaces – a private office, his’n’her dressing rooms and bathrooms, and a forward-facing suite with amazing views out. Below, there are five guest suites and a private guest office. A key feature of the interior is the staggering ‘Tree of Life’ sculpture, that rises centrally from the tank deck to the upper deck: 1,200 points of light give the glass piece an organic and animated feel.

Guests are thoroughly spoiled, with the sundeck offering a hot-tub that converts to a dance floor at night (below) and a full wellness area on the bridge deck, close to a large pool aft. Outside on the upper/owner’s deck there is space for 14 to dine. There is a further sauna in the beach club area, and a fully equipped cinema with a dedicated day head.

Inset 3

Solandge has been cruising this winter in the Caribbean and is due back in the Mediterranean this summer. “We are happy that we have met the high expectations of her owner, delierving the yacht in budget and on time,” says Lürssen.
