Don’t let anyone tell you that there is anything passé about cold-moulded yacht building: one look at the stunning new 32.5-metre 107 from Vicem, the flagship of its semi-displacement Cruiser line, reveals a yacht that seamlessly blends the traditional and the modern. Moni certainly looks the part with a pleasingly high bow and chunky side decks – this is a yacht that won’t blink when the weather gets a little troublesome. Twin 1,255kW CATs should deliver a top speed around 21 knots and a cruise around 17. One of the benefits of the cold-moulded process using laminated mahogany is a stronger hull and a quieter and smoother ride. The warm interior, where darker woods and leather predominate, was created by Vicem’s craftsmen to fulfil the owner’s brief.
The first off the line has accommodation for ten in five staterooms, including a full-beam midships master and two VIPs, making the yacht a good charter choice.
