Galactica Super Nova was previously known as Project Kometa.
The largest superyacht to ever appear from Dutch yard Heesen was launched over the weekend and has been christened Galactica Super Nova.
Previously known as Project Kometa while in build, the 70-metre superyacht will reach a staggering top speed of 30 knots, thanks to its Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF), and the addition of a third engine to power a booster jet.
Exterior lines are by Espen Øino with interiors by Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design. Galactica Super Nova accommodates 12 guests in six cabins, including a master on the main deck, a VIP on the bridge deck aft and four cabins on the lower deck.
“The owner appointed acclaimed Dutch designer Sinot to create the light, pure and well-balanced interior with a sophisticated equilibrium between monochromic and soft colors.” says the yard. “The atmosphere is relaxed and informal, understated and inviting yet extremely refined. A wide range of leathers – from galuchat to very soft calfskin – form the basis of the interior decor that includes a variety of stones such as calacatta luccicoso and various onyx. The stand-out feature in the interior is the central staircase with a crystal elevator. Steel, nickel, chrome, wood and leather flow together to form a magnificent and grandiose architectural helix.”
The tender and water toys are stored away from the beach club in a forward part of the hull. This allows the guests to enjoy a large beach club space in close proximity to the water. A 13,500 litre contraflow pool on the aft deck features a waterfall and an integrated Jacuzzi, and a glass bottom allows natural light to reach the beach club below.
There is a touch and go helipad on the bow which doubles as an outdoor cinema.
