The 42.5-metre Pershing 140, which is expected to make its debut in 2018, is under construction at the Ferretti Group's Ancona yard.

With a hull shape that draws inspiration from military craft, the yacht has a steely and muscular look on the water. Designed by Fulvio De Simoni, and the Ferretti Group’s product strategy committee and engineering department, the yacht features an aluminium hull and superstructure, with a few composite inserts on the main deck. “This flagship is innovative, though also typical of the brand’s DNA. We have preserved the iconic design elements that make every Pershing unmistakable at first sight,” says Fulvio De Simoni, who has drawn all Pershing models since 1985.

There are sporty elements throughout including a steel grid wrapping around the distinctive snub nose of the bow. Stylish side wings on either side of the main deck cockpit open up this area. The after part of the cockpit is raised to create a mezzanine deck with direct access to the upper deck and the beach club below. Guests can also make use of the foredeck area at anchor – it opens to create an extensive sunbathing space.

Accommodation inside includes a main-deck master suite and cinema/playroom, with three VIP doubles and a twin on the lower deck.

The Pershing 140 delivers a typically punchy top speed with waterjets, with the biggest of two twin-engine options delivering 33 knots. If you choose a quadruple MTU line-up, you’ll get around 38 knots.

“Last July we showed the owners who took part in Pershing’s 30th anniversary celebrations in Mallorca the first renderings of the new yacht, and their reaction was exactly like mine: a shudder of excitement. I can’t wait for this incredible vessel to be built. I want to see it growing month after month, and I am sure the Pershing 140 will be the greatest thrill ever in Pershing’s history,” says Alberto Galassi, Ferretti Group CEO.
