Columbus Yachts, part of the Palumbo Group, has launched the 57-metre Classic and the second hull in its 40-metre Sport Hybrid range.

Details of the steel-and-aluminium Columbus Classic 57 (above left) remain elusive, but there are some clear differences from the exterior styling of the Classic 54 Prima, which launched in 2011, including an enclosed area on the sundeck of the new yacht. The yard describes the yacht’s interior as “eclectic”.

The 40M features hydbrid propulsion

The aluminium-hulled Sport Hybrid 40M (above) is built on the proven platform of the 40S Hybrid launched in 2013. The yard says the new yacht has a modern interior layout plus “optional advanced electric propulsion”.

Both new yachts will be showcased at the Monaco Yacht Show in September. Columbus Yachts also says it will be introducing three new designs at the show: the 33-38-metre Liberty range, created with Marco Casali – Too Design Studio, will feature an open, transparent beach area; the dynamic 50-80-metre Sport Oceanic range; and the 40 and 50-metre Oceanic Coupé – aluminum, semi-displacement open yachts that have been designed for Asian and US markets. The Oceanic Coupé and Sport Oceanic ranges were designed in collaboration with Studio Vafiadis.
