The German yard has been known recently for launching some incredible 100-metre-plus superyachts.
The 74-metre Aurora is the latest superyacht to be launched from the German yard. Both the exterior and the interior is by London-based Winch Design, with the project sold and build managed by Moran.
Aurora takes design cues from classic yachts and modern-day superyachts. Her Art Deco name plate, framed by classic ship-style windows on the decks above and below hark back to an era of gentleman’s yachting, whereas the powerful bow and vertical windows forward place the yacht firmly in 2017. With six decks and a beam of 13 metres, the voluminous yacht ensures there are plenty of unique and distinct guest areas for the owners to relax and entertain in.
Lürssen says: “Aurora has been built to meet all of the owners’ requirements, creating a very private yacht with individual needs to the highest technical standard combined with many practical and useful features.”
Although in the news recently for launching some amazing 100-metre-plus superyachts, the yard is keen to emphasise its commitment to building superyachts that are world leaders in terms of quality, with the length of the yacht entirely up to the owner. “Building some of the biggest yachts in the world is is an occasional occurrence and it is not what we set out to do,” says Michael Breman, sales director at Lürssen. “We want the world to know that we build superyachts well below the 80 to 100-metre mark as part of our regular business and that we are equally proud of all our yachts.”
She is due for delivery in a few short months, in time to spend the summer season cruising.
