Fitzroy Yachts has launched the 50-metre flybridge sloop Ohana in New Plymouth, New Zealand. The superyacht is undergoing sea trials before she heads to Auckland for more tests. She will be delivered in February.

“It is a huge complement to Fitzroy Yachts and our team that Ohana’s owner approached us directly,” says managing director Rodney Martin.

The sloop was designed by Dubois Naval Architects, the eighth design by this designer to be built at the yard. Her interior was designed by her European owner, and aims for a natural, modern feel using whitewashed oak and colours inspired by nature.

Ohana sleeps ten guests in five cabins. Her maximum speed under sail will be 18 knots, with a cruising speed of 12 knots. She is expected to debut in February 2013 at the New Zealand Millennium Cup.
