Viareggio Superyachts stunning 72-metre Stella Maris has been launched in readiness for her appearence at the Monaco Yacht Show. She’s the biggest yacht built in Viareggio for the past 30 years and her launched presented a major logistical challenge. She had to be transferred by barge to the military Arsenal in La Spezia, where she was floated into a large dry dock, which was then drained for the launch ceremony. At the end of the launch ceremony, the dry dock was then flooded again, enabling Stella Maris to return to Viareggio the same day.
The yacht was unveiled earlier this month. VSY is now busy carrying out sea trials and completing the outfitting before handover to her new Portuguese owner and her debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in September. The explorer yacht’s exterior styling is by Espen Øino, while the interior by Studio Reverberi makes the most of the open and light-filled main guest areas.
