The 180-metre Lürssen Azzam – the world’s biggest superyacht – has left the German shipbuilder’s yard on her maiden voyage after being launched, sea trialled and officially delivered last year. She is shown arriving in Gibraltar last weekend. It is believed that the yacht has had to remain in Bremen until her new home berth in the Middle East was completed.
The yacht features exterior styling by Nauta Yachts and an interior by French designer Christophe Leoni. She boasts 94,000 horsepower generated by twin gas turbines and twin diesel engines, and will be capable of a staggering 30 knots. The build was managed by Burgess.
